With Noah Katterbach's contract expiring this summer and the player having been demoted to the 1. FC Köln under-21s, Hamburg (HSV) look like a very likely destination for the player.
It has been reported that there is no longer space for Noah Katterbach in the first team squad at Köln. With midfielder Mathias Olesen already having left the club, it seems likely that Köln will move Katterbach on this window.
Reportedly, the player let the club know last week that he would be leaving the club upon his contract expiring in the summer.
Last being a mainstay in the squad under former coach Markus Gisdol, Katterbach has played one game for 1. FC Köln since late 2021..
Following this game, he spent successive loan spells at Basel and Hamburger SV in the following seasons.
Will Noah Katterbach leave this window?
Currently, it seems as if 1. FC Köln want a fee for the player whereas Hamburg do not want to pay anything for Katterbach and instead acquire him on a free transfer.
With the player costing €2 million per year in wages, however, Köln may be forced to get rid of him in order to free up wage money.
