1. FC Köln are going into the 2024-25 2. Bundesliga season without head coach Timo Schultz and his assistants Kevin McKenna and André Pawlak.

This is a part of a fresh change for the new campaign, in a bid to turn around a lot of the wrongs made from last season in terms of a coaching sense.

About the departure of both assistant coaches, sporting director Christian Keller said: "We would like to sincerely thank André and Kevin. They have put their heart and soul and passion into their work for the FC at every moment. Under changing head coaches, they have always been loyal, reliable colleagues at a high professional level."

Rumours have been circulating that Karlsruher SC's manager Christian Eichner is the frontrunner for the vacant role at Köln.
