In the press conference ahead of the Bayer Leverkusen clash, Köln coach Timo Schultz reaffirmed that Davie Selke will not have a starting spot in Müngersdorf on Sunday.

On the topic of Davie Selke, Timo Schultz said: "Davie Selke isn't an option to start at the weekend. What happens in terms of the squad, we'll decide on that tomorrow. The opportunity is there."

This means that Davie Selke will have to wait until at least Borussia Mönchengladbach next Saturday to get his first start since the match against Heidenheim in early January.

Selke himself spoke to 1. FC Köln's media this week and stated he was raring to get back into the team ahead of the latter stage of the relegation battle.

It is still unclear whether the striker will come on during the game, however this will probably depend fully on the course of the game.

The current striking options for Timo Schultz are Sargis Adamyan, Florian Dietz, Steffen Tigges, Jan Thielmann and Faride Alidou.

It is suspected that Timo Schultz will start the game with Faride Alidou and Jan Thielmann leading the line.
