RB Leipzig's Yussuf Poulsen after Bochum win: "The starting players on their pitch also did their job"
Yussuf Poulsen spoke in an interview after scoring against VfL Bochum in a 4-1 win in the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig about the role of Leipzig's substitutes.
RB Leipzig beat VfL Bochum convincingly 4-1 thanks to goals from Dani Olmo and second half substitutes Yussuf Poulsen and Loïs Openda.
With an xG (expected goals) of under 2, it is fair to say that RB Leipzig had the clinical edge in the tie.
Following the game, Yussuf Poulsen said: "Just because the substitutes succeeded with scoring, it doesn't mean that those on the pitch during the first half and up until the 60th minute didn't do their job."
On the matter of the mood of players not starting, Poulsen said: "Football is about winning, football is about having fun. Every time I get on the pitch I have fun. If it's as a substitute, for me, this doesn't matter."
RB Leipzig play Real Madrid on Wednesday in a must-win tough away second leg at the infamous Santiago Bernabéu.
