After months of protest and backlash from fans, the Bundesliga have officially announced that the DFL's investor deal is no longer taking place in a committee session in Frankfurt.

Thanks to a committee meeting in Frankfurt on Wednesday, the DFL's committee has decided to not go ahead with plans to seek an investor deal.

The statement on the Bundesliga website cites "that it cannot be denied that this vote lacks broad acceptance due to the events involving Hannover 96".

This follows Blackstone dropping out of talks for the investor deal, which left only CVC as the sole investment partner left.

Furthermore, in the statement, it is noted that the "vote is considered legally valid within the executive committee and according to legal experts".

Another factor in this decision was that a revote would "raise further legal questions regarding the assessment of the legally valid decision taken in December 2023" and that this would jeopardize the legal position of the DFL.
