Following an unsavoury first half of the season and Mainz's manager Bo Svenssonn being sacked, sporting director Christian Heidel gave an interview on the club's website.
A key topic in this interview was the subject of Mainz's pre-return preparations in Marbella with their training camp that ended on the 7th ahead of their return to the Bundesliga on Saturday (the 13th) against Wolfsburg.
When asked about this training camp, Heidel said: "The team confirmed what we see in them. It is absolutely intact, everyone is pulling together, the mood is focused and good."
Talking about the player status at the club, Heidel said: "The injured players who are now returning to the team are further raising our footballing level, even if not all of them will be available again right away."
Lastly, one notable point was about any signings the club looks to make. With regards to this, Heidel said: "There are no concrete plans. But I will never rule out transfers during a transfer period."
