Bayer Leverkusen's central defender Piero Hincapié is being linked with a move to Merseyside this January.
Despite the club stating both defenders Jonathan Tah and Piero Hincapié are not for sale this January, Liverpool seem to still be confident of luring the player.
Hincapié has a reported release clause of £60.7 million but Liverpool are hoping they can negotiate this with Bayer Leverkusen.
With the club looking for a historic first Bundesliga title, it seems unlikely that they would be keen to let him go until after the season is over.
Piero Hincapié looks set to play for Ecuador in the 2024 Copa America barring any injury.
