Julian Nagelsmann was wary to confirm interest in extending his Germany contract once again. However, Germany's sporting director Rudi Völler is keen for him to sign.

In a recent press conference, Julian Nagelsmann spoke about an extension of his stay as coach at the DFB: "I can imagine everything (about staying at Germany). But, there still is a way to go. Firstly, we want to win the Nations League, mount a successful World Cup qualification and play a good World Cup. Then we will see later."

On this matter, DFB sporting director and Germany legend Rudi Völler said: "Only he (Julian) can decide whether he wants to stay on. He's a young guy, who might still have ambitions to undertake something else."

Julian Nagelsmann, who was brought into the picture at the DFB in late 2023 for one last attempt at a hope-inspiring set of results before the home Euro 2024, was brought in by Rudi Völler following Hansi Flick's sacking.

Initially having signed short-term for the sole purpose of the 2024 European Championships, his impressive back-to-back wins in April in friendlies against France and the Netherlands meant he had earnt a contract extension until 2026.
