Eintracht Frankfurt beat TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga during the week of their 125th anniversary as a club. Dino Toppmöller gave his thoughts after the tie.

Eintracht Frankfurt won 3-1 against TSG Hoffenheim on the 25th matchday of the Bundesliga season thanks to goals from Robin Koch, Éric Dina-Ebimbe and Mario Götze.

Hoffenheim took an early lead in the 6th minute through John Anthony Brooks. However, less than twenty minutes later, the goalscorer got sent off for Hoffenheim.

Things got worse for Pellegrino Matarazzo as his side went down to nine men as Ozan Kabak picked up his second yellow in the 78th minute.

After the game, Eintracht Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller said: "I think that from the start we played a properly good game. We were very well in the game. It was of couse unlucky that we conceded from a wrongly awarded corner."

He added: "The fans were fantastic with their support today. At the start, when I came out of the tunnel I had goosebumps. At the end, they won very deservedly."

Dino Toppmöller also added: "In 2024, we are the fifth best side even if it doesn't feel like it sometimes."

Lastly, he said: "Mario (Götze) was the best player in the 11 v 11 during training on Thursday and logically deserved his place in the starting eleven."
