On Thursday 21st December, Köln's fate was revealed in a final decision made by The International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

1. FC Köln were rendered unable to make transfers for the next two transfer periods through the decision made after CAS sided with FIFA's original ruling.

The club's statement read: “The International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) follows the FIFA Association of Arbitration Court (the so-called Dispute Resolution Chamber) and has confirmed its ruling in connection with the signing of U19 player Jaka Cuber Potocnik, previously from Olimpija Ljubljana, in January 2022. The CAS decision was sent to the FC this Thursday afternoon."

What Are The Club Allowed To Do During This Period?

-The club are allowed to offer current players contract extensions

-The club are allowed to promote youth players in line with Bundesliga regulations

-The club are allowed to use recalled loan players when their spells end

-The club are allowed to extend any current loan spells with players and make these deals permanent

-The club are allowed to sell any players

-The club are allowed to loan players out

What Are The Club Not Allowed To Do During This Period?

-Make any loan deals with players that weren't registered at the start of the 23-24 Bundesliga campaign

-Purchase any players from other clubs for fees

-Make any free transfers

-Activate any buy-back clauses from players who weren't registered with the club at the start of the season
