1. FC Köln won spectacularly in added time against VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga at the Müngersdorfer Stadion. The reason according to coach Timo Schultz: the fans.

In the first half, Bochum were the weaker side but both teams failed to score. Against the tide, in the 53rd minute Felix Passlack was able to put VfL Bochum one-nil up thanks to a Moritz Broschinski cross.

However, goals from Luca Waldschmidt and Steffen Tigges in the 92nd and 93rd minute of the tie turned it around for 1. FC Köln as they managed to win 2-1 against fellow relegation-threatened side VfL Bochum.

Before Saturday's game, Köln had only scored one single goal from a substitute and this was through Damion Downs against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Against Bochum, however, they managed two.

After the game, 1. FC Köln coach Timo Schultz praised the fans and said: "The stadium and the spectators played a huge role in us turning the game around today."

He added: "The fans used the smallest of opportunities to push us. At every corner. At every throw-in."
