In a press conference ahead of the match against Eintracht Frankfurt, 1. FC Köln manager Timo Schultz rejected the idea of their being "doom and gloom" by the fans.

1. FC Köln are third-bottom in the Bundesliga and are on twelve points (the same total as they had at the same time during the 2017-18 Bundesliga season).

With this in mind, Timo Schultz gave a press conference ahead of the Bundesliga clash in Müngersdorf on Saturday.

When speaking about the changes for the squad against Eintracht Frankfurt, Timo Schultz said: "Jacob Christensen is close to the team. He is an option for the starting lineup. He presented himself very well in training and in the test match and is more than an alternative for me."

He also said: "We want to get three points, we have the right to win, even against Frankfurt. In the end, I don’t care who we win against.

On the topic of criticism, Schultz added: "This criticism hardly resonates with me at all because I read very little. That has no influence on me."

This idea of criticism became a large topic in the press conference as the Köln manager went on to mention that the squad "also prefer to read that they get a 2 in Express (German news outlet) than a 5. But that is in their own hands."
