In the first part of an interview for the Bundesliga's website, Bayern Munich's coach Thomas Tuchel opened up about last season's title race amongst other topics.

The interview started with Thomas Tuchel saying: "Bayer Leverkusen are the only team in Europe who are still unbeaten... We've also had a lot of problems with injuries - most of our games we have had only four or five players on the bench, it's become normal."

Injuries and fitness became a huge topic thanks to Thomas Tuchel's comments made before the match against 1. FC Köln about the international break influencing FC Bayern Munich.

Somewhat ironically, he went on to make no substitutes during this game. Further on in the interview when talking about last season's final matchday, he said: "I thought we had lost it in the last home match against RB Leipzig. Then, very quickly, Thomas Müller stepped up in the dressing room and said ‘This isn't finished’. It didn't convince me fully at the time, but I was still impressed and it made me think, at least."

Tuchel has a 65% win rate at Bayern Munich and stepped in for the club last season following Julian Nagelsmann's sacking.

Bayern Munich are currently seven points from Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the table but have a game in hand against Union Berlin tonight.
