Sebastian Hoeneß was delighted with VfB Stuttgart's win, despite his side conceding a late goal to make the last minutes of the tie extremely nerve wracking.

Stuttgart won a close tie against VfL Wolfsburg 3-2 thanks to a brace from Serhou Guirassy and a goal from defender Josha Vagnoman.

A late Lukas Nmecha goal in the 83rd minute put the game at 3-2 following Stuttgart's comfortable two-goal lead in the 78th minute.

After the game, Sebastian Hoeneß said: "We had control, it felt good. I think that through this we took some of their momentum. We missed creating some clear chances a tiny bit."

He added: "Champions League, all is good and nice. We are now at the top. We want to stay at the top but we are competing with two absolute top teams."

Lastly, he finished by shutting down any speculation of a move away from Stuttgart when he said: "I feel very welcome at VfB Stuttgart. I am enjoying the work. Everything else is just speculation."
