Greuther Fürth and Magdeburg played out a bizarre 2-2 draw on Sunday in the 2. Bundesliga which included viral moments where players picked up the ball within their box

Gideon Jung was the first offender of a handball via picking up the ball within the box, as Nahuel Nicolas Noll rolled out the ball to him.

He then picks up the ball thinking he was supposed to put it on the six yard box for a goal kick. The following penalty was eventually converted into a goal by Mo El Hankouri after he initially missed, netting on the rebound.

After the match, Jung spoke to Sky: "It was simply a thinking error from me, I was in the action of thinking it was a goal kick for us."

Later on in the tie, Greuther Fürth's opponents Magdeburg also conceded a hand ball penalty as Daniel Heber instinctively picked up the ball in Magdeburg's box thinking the whistle had gone for a foul.

Daniel Heber explained this after the match in an interview with Sky: "In my opinion it was a clear foul. For me it was obvious that the referee would blow the whistle. Crazy! With Fürth's handball and mine both in the first half, this game will go in the history books."
