1. FC Köln's captain Florian Kainz recently spoke to the German news organisation "Express" and spoke about his future at the club.

1. FC Köln are rumoured to have seven players with relegation clauses (according to the Express): Florian Kainz, Jan Thielmann, Julian Chabot (who has confirmed he is leaving the club), Linton Maina, Timo Hübers, Marvin Schwäbe and Eric Martel.

In Florian Kainz's interview posted on Express.de, he said: "I have a contract for the 2nd division. We now have to wait and see how it looks for me and what kind of squad we have available."

In line with reports from EXPRESS.de information, these clauses are valid until mid-June therefore players will be coming out over the next weeks and making their position with the club known.

Sporting director Christian Keller has also caught some fire, as he was accused with allegedly having lied about the clauses from players including Jan Thielmann and Florian Kainz when he was asked about them.

All in all, the situations with these players do not leave a good look on the transfer banned club at all and leave them potentially scrambling for a squad for the 2. Bundesliga next season.
