On Bundesliga matchday 23, Borussia Dortmund lost to TSG Hoffenheim 3-2 after having been a goal up at half-time. Edin Terzić had difficulty in explaining the loss in an interview following the game.
Hoffenheim's Ihlas Bebou scored in the second minute to put Die Kreichgauer one-nil up. Following this, two goals in four minutes from Borussia Dortmund's in-form Donyell Malen and Nico Schlotterbeck turned the tie around before the break.
In spite of this, Maximilian Beier scored a double in the second 45 minutes and this was enough for TSG Hoffenheim to turn around a 2-1 deficit in the second half.
This loss means Dortmund remain in fourth and are still only a point above RB Leipzig in fifth. Hoffenheim's first win since early December saw them climb up to eighth.
Following the game, Dortmund coach Edin Terzić was asked how they could have lost and in response he said: "It is very hard to explain. We started the game extremely nervously and were down one-nil very early on."
He added: "In the first half, something that I was not impressed with was that although we had a lot of possession, we still had to defend counter attacks."
Finally, Terzić said: "We started extremely distasteful in the second half and we completely invited the opponent back in the game."
