1. FC Köln disappointed once again in a poor performance as they simply didn't take their chances against a clinical and free-flowing Dortmund side in Jadon Sancho's first start since his return.

Borussia Dortmund halted Köln's positive start to the game in the first fifteen minutes by scoring through a Julian Brandt corner thanks to a Donyell Malen strike.

Malen, who himself scored a brace this afternoon, enjoys playing against Köln as he also scored in August as Dortmund won a narrow 1-0 opening game fixture.

Köln continued to show small glimpses of promise throughout the half but to no avail as Dortmund went into half-time 1-0 up.

In the second half, Köln started on fire with chances for Jan Thielmann and an open goal miss from Rasmus Carstensen came within the first ten minutes of the half.

Despite this, once Borussia Dortmund got their second goal through a Niklas Füllkrug penalty (won by new signing Jadon Sancho) they never looked back.

Another spurt of hope for Borussia Dortmund will be youngster Youssoufa Moukoko's goal in the dying embers which will boost the player's morale despite links earlier in the season that he may leave.
