Borussia Dortmund won 2-1 in their last game in the Bundesliga against Werder Bremen despite ending the tie with ten men, thanks to goals from Donyell Malen and Jadon Sancho.

In the away leg, Borussia Dortmund drew 1-1 with their Dutch counterparts despite a controversial penalty call going against them. However, Donyell Malen was able to net against his old club to open the scoring that time out.

Borussia Dortmund are yet to lose in matches against PSV, with the club from the Ruhr region having won one and drawn two in previous meetings with the team from the Netherlands.

Dortmund's Malen is in hot form in the Bundesliga, as he has scored four in his last five league outings. BVB have had seven different scorers in the Champions League this season.

Niclas Füllkrug is the top scorer for the Yellow-Blacks in the league, he is joint with Donyell Malen on eleven goals in the Bundesliga.

Ahead of the Champions League clash, Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzić said: "We know we need to win to get to the next round. I see us as fully capable of beating a strong Eindhoven side, particularly at home."

PSV Eindhoven

PSV won in the Eredivisie 1-0 last weekend, despite going down to ten men late on, to preserve their unbeaten league campaign.

In the league, thirty-three year old PSV captain Luuk De Jong is the club's top scorer with twenty-two goals.

PSV have only been in the round of 16 of the Champions League once in the last ten years, losing eventually on penalties against Atlético Madrid.

Lastly, PSV have gone twenty-five games unbeaten in the Eredivisie and have only drawn three of these games (in turn winning 22).
