Borussia Dortmund host European hopefuls Eintracht Frankfurt at the Signal Iduna Park on Sunday in the Bundesliga. Edin Terzić's side are the second-best in the Bundesliga in 2024.

Last time out in the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund won 2-1 with ten men against Werder Bremen as Jadon Sancho netted his first Bundesliga goal for the Yellow-Blacks.

In midweek, it was the same scorer again (Jadon Sancho) who managed to get the victory against PSV through his early goal.

Coach Edin Terzić has been in charge of the Bundesliga's second-best side in 2024, as they are above Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig in the table for the calendar year.

Niclas Füllkrug and Donyell Malen are the joint-highest scorers for BVB in the Bundesliga during this campaign with eleven goals each.

Lastly, ahead of Sunday's game, Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzić said: "Eintracht Frankfurt is very difficult to beat, has high speed in all positions. But we have also shown that we are ready to take the next steps. We have improved in performance and results."

Eintracht Frankfurt won last time out 3-1 against the nine men of TSG Hoffenheim to make it back-to-back victories in the Bundesliga.

The previous tie against BVB ended in a 3-3 draw in the reverse fixture in the Bundesliga this season.

Also, only Hoffenheim (fourty-four goals) have scored more goals as a team outside of the top five in the Bundesliga.

Against Dortmund, Frankfurt have not won since 2021 in the Bundesliga and lost four in a row in the league before their last game (which ended 3-3).

Finally, ahead of the BVB tie, Eintracht Frankfurt Dino Toppmöller said: "We are in a good mood and want to play a good game. The boys have been bursting with energy this week, everyone is really excited about the game."

Sébastien Haller is out with an ankle injury and Julian Ryerson is suffering from a skin infection so will miss the tie. 

Marcel Sabitzer is suspended due to his red card versus Werder Bremen and Samuel Bamba is out with a thigh injury. Lastly, Jadon Sancho is a doubt for Sunday.


Eintracht Frankfurt

Sebastian Rode has a knee issue so will miss the game and Saša Kalajdžić is unavailable with a knee injury. Mehdi Loune also has a knee issue so will miss the game.
