Borussia Dortmund effectively ended Eintracht Frankfurt's hopes of Champions League football as they beat them in the Bundesliga. The gap is now at ten points between Eintracht and top four.

Match Overview

Within the first 15 minutes, Eintracht Frankfurt were on the front foot and capitalized as Omar Marmoush made it past Nico Schlotterbeck and struck towards goal.

Alexander Meyer managed to save, only for the ex-Borussia Dortmund player Mario Götze to put Eintracht 1-0 up.

Julian Brandt took a corner shortly after and the ball fell to Niclas Füllkrug. Füllkrug then headed towards goal but his effort was cleared off the line by Willian Pacho.

Karim Adeyemi levelled at the thirty-three minute mark as he is left to have a shot at the back post which he slots in.

Following this, both teams went into the half time level. In the second half, Eintracht Frankfurt had a pair of chances early on through Ansgar Knauff and Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe but this was to no avail.

During the 72nd minute, Julian Brandt was stopped by Frankfurt defender Tuta from scoring despite Kevin Trapp looking beaten.

With less than ten minutes of normal time left, Mats Hummels headed in the ball past Trapp which put them ahead.

Lastly, Youssoufa Moukoko went down in added time due to a Robin Koch foul and a penalty was awarded to Dortmund. Emre Can made no mistake in killing off the tie to add a third.
