Union Berlin look to extend their four match unbeaten run in the Bundesliga on Saturday at home to out of sorts Borussia Dortmund.

Match Overview

Union Berlin

Union Berlin are proving a tougher opponent since appointing Nenad Bjelica back in November. Eight points from twelve in their last four games gives Die Eisernen plenty of cause for optimism.

After winning away against TSG Hoffenheim, Union may have been hoping for even better than a draw against Bundesliga new boys FC Heidenheim. However, recent performances see Union gradually moving away from the relegation zone.

Although Dortmund have the better Head to Head record, Union will be comforted by the fact that they have only lost once to Dortmund at home since being promoted to the 1. Liga. The corresponding fixture last season saw Union winning 2-0 with a brace from Janik Heberer.

Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund go into the game on the back of a chastening defeat to TSG Hoffenheim on Matchday 23. After an excellent start to the Rückrunde with three straight wins, one in five sees the team lacking in confidence and seemingly devoid of tactical ideas.

There was plenty wrong with the performance against Hoffenheim and the team will be looking to bounce back with a win. The trip to Stadion An der Alten Försterei is the first of two tricky away games for Edin Terzić's side. A defeat in Berlin would really see the heat turned up on the manager and the power brokers upstairs.

Team News

Union Berlin

Alex Schwolow is preferred as the back keeper over Jakub Busk and Robin Goosens misses the game through suspension having picked up five yellow cards.

Borussia Dortmund

Sebastian Haller continues to be out with an ankle injury. Also missing due to injury are Gregor Kobel (abductor injury), Felix Nmecha (hip). Donyell Malen is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow of the season last time out.
