1. FC Köln striker Davie Selke spoke to reporters in the mixed-zone following his training saying he was eager to return to the squad in the coming weeks.
It remains unclear whether Timo Schultz will opt for the striker ahead of Köln's clash with rival Bayer Leverkusen but it is looking more likely that the striker will make his long-awaited return against Borussia Mönchengladbach next week.
Selke suffered a foot injury during Köln's clash earlier this year against Heidenheim in Schultz's first game in charge.
After training on Tuesday, Selke said: "It feels really good, the foot holds. Physio Christian Osebold and athletic trainer Leif Frach did a good job. I'm very happy that the rehab went so well and that I'm back on the pitch."
Selke also mentioned the improved form of the Billy Goats, regarding this he said: "We have stabilized – especially defensively. It is definitely a positive development. We now have to continue working continuously."
Köln play unbeaten Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday in a fiercely anticipated derby clash. The preview for this game will be available on Futmo on Friday.
