1. FC Köln came back from behind to grab a point in a 1-1 draw against VfB Stuttgart during Bundesliga matchday 23 as Eric Martel grabbed a goal in the second half.

Match Overview

Stuttgart were the better team early on in the game and had a big chance through Serhou Guirassy to score and make it 1-0 as he headed the ball just wide of the mark.

Köln finished the half without any real chances apart from a Jan Thielmann effort which was comfortable for Fabian Bredlow.

Early on in the second half, in the 53rd minute, Enzo Millot peeled away from his marker following a one-two with Chris Führich to put VfB Stuttgart one-nil up.

Just less than ten mintues later, Eric Martel is left unmarked at the back post as Linton Maina crosses the ball into the box.

The young midfielder made no mistake in bringing the ball down and slotting it in the back of the net to equalize.

Very late on, Köln mount one final chance via Faride Alidou as the attacker makes it past Stuttgart's last line of defence but is unable to convert a shot from a tight angle to grab a late winner.
