FC Bayern Munich Women headed into this game unbeaten in the Frauen Bundesliga and in all competitions so far this season.

This being said, Leverkusen could have put themselves within a point of a Champions League spot with a win against Bayern this evening.

That being mentioned, Leverkusen were unbeaten themselves since defeat to Wolfsburg in mid-September in the Frauen Bundesliga.

First Half

Early on, a Magdalena Eriksson headed goal from a corner relieved some of the early pressure against Bayern in the game.

Skinnes Hansen created Leverkusen's first chance in the game during the 22nd minute where she crossed the ball in for Nikola Karczewska.

However, this build up of play for Leverkusen didn't last and Bayern were able to see out the half at 1-0.

Second Half

To start the half, Giulia Gwinn hit a thunderbolt of a free-kick early into the second half to all but secure the tie for Bayern.

Then, Jovana Damnjanović scored a lovely chipped effort in the 58th minute following a brilliant Georgia Stanway reverse pass in the build-up.

Full-back and scorer Giulia Gwinn  came off and so did her teammate Linda Dallmann in the 64th minute.

Key player Lina Magull came on in the 64th minute for Sydney Lohmann and from then on Bayern sought to see off the rest of the tie.

Leverkusen had one last huge chance in the closing minutes through seventeen year-old Estrella Merino Gonzalez but it wasn't to be.

End Result: 3-0
