Background
Mahmoud Dahoud began his career playing at junior professional academy level for Fortuna Düsseldorf before signing for Borussia Mönchengladbach at the age of 14 in 2010.
In 2014, Dahoud made his debut for Borussia Mönchengladbach in a 7–0 Europa League play-off win over FK Sarajevo.
In July 2017, after three successful seasons at Gladbach, Dahoud joined Borussia Dortmund for a fee of €12 million.
In August 2019, Mahmoud Dahoud won his first trophy at Borussia Dortmund as they beat Bayern Munich the DFL-Supercup.
In May 2021, Dahoud started as Borussia Dortmund won the DFB-Pokal against RB Leipzig to win Dahoud's second trophy at the club.
