Bayern Munich are looking to stop three consecutive away Bundesliga defeats, whereas SC Freiburg head into this tie with only one win in 2024.

Match Overview

SC Freiburg

Freiburg lost out last time in the Bundesliga against Augsburg, with an early penalty from Vincenzo Grifo being countered by late Felix Uduokhai and Arne Engels strikes.

SC Freiburg have lost their last five Bundesliga matches against Bayern Munich, with the last result being a 3-0 away loss at the Allianz Arena.

Another negative for Freiburg is their form this year as only Darmstadt (three) have picked up fewer points this calendar year than their tally of four.

Very consistent, Vincenzo Grifo has been a huge positive once again for Freiburg this campaign as the Italian seven goals and assists in the Bundesliga.

Ahead of the Breisgauer's clash with Bayern Munich, coach Christian Streich mentioned the topic of the loss to Augsburg when he said: "The boys are only human. They really give everything and do everything."

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich had a dramatic turnaround in their last game against RB Leipzig, winning 2-1 thanks to a late Harry Kane strike.

This marked their first win in four outings, as the Bavarians had lost three in a row against Bayer Leverkusen, Lazio and VfL Bochum.

Bayern Munich last lost three or more away games in a row in the Bundesliga in the 2006-07 season (five defeats).

Ahead of the clash, the Bayern coach (who is departing in the summer) spoke about Freiburg's strengths and said: "They're very flexible, very variable and do a lot of running. They carry the ball well down the right with Ritsu Doan."

Team News

SC Freiburg

Phillipp Lienhart is still out with a groin injury and Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has a knee problem ruling him out of the tie.

Kenneth Schmidt is also unavailable for Christian Streich. Yannik Keitel and Lukas Kübler are both doubts ahead of the clash.

The doubts ahead of the tie are Serge Gnabry as he has a thigh issue and Leroy Sané who has a knee problem which meant he missed training in midweek.
